Bio

Emelie became a member of Play in late 2010, after Fanny Hamlin left the group to pursue a solo music career. Already friends with then remaining Play members, Sanne Karlsson and Anaïs Lameche, she was a perfect fit for Play.

Emelie grew up in suburb of Stockholm, called Täby, with her sister, Amanda, and brother, Oscar. Music played a big part in her life from a young age; she learned to play piano by ear when she was seven and was then trained in classical music for several years. Eventually, she attended Rytmus, Sweden’s best music school, where she was classmates with Rosanna Munter and Fanny Hamlin. She also attended the London Music School, where she studied stage performing and songwriting.

Before joining Play, Emelie was a demo artist and freelance singer. Most notably, she performed backing vocals for popular Swedish artist E-Type, along with fellow Play member Sanne Karlsson.

Besides music, Emelie is a talented photographer and worked as an air hostess for Etihad Airways. The latter being perfect for her, as she loves to travel and meet new people. She also enjoys writing, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, and yoga.

In 2011, Emelie recorded vocals for Strong, a dance single created by Stellar Project and Swedish artist Elodie.

Currently, she lives in Los Angeles with her fiance, singer-songwriter Gustaf Torling, and works as an assistant at Extension Music.
